[DA:O] free on Origin & Stone Prisonner: Can't access Sulcher Pass

Hello.

So a few days ago I read about DA:O being free on Origin and I downloaded it.

Yesterday I came upon this and followed the links and instructions to get both the Stone Prisonner dlc and the bonus items bundle.

As far as I can tell, everything went fine; the in-game menus tell me that the SP dlc is installed and active, the Origin page for the game doesn't offer me to buy the DLC anymore, so apparently I own it, or something. It also shows as registred on social.bioware.com, should that matter.

But I can't seem to begin Stone Prisonner quest. (I did, however found some gifts for the dlc's companion in-game, so apparently the files are installed correclty ...)

From my understanding I should have a new destination on the world map, named Sulcher's Pass. I don't have it.

I went on the web looking for solutions, and came upon this board, this thread in particular seemed like it could be of some help. Quoting the 3rd post with my comments in italics:

"We have received a variety of reports about DLC not functioning properly for some users. Many of these issues seem to be impacting users that do not have a CD key installed in their registry.

Symptoms of this issue that users have reported experiencing include:

  • When speaking to Shale the conversation will be reset to the first time you speak to her, with only two dialogue options. The player will also be placed in a "bad" location on the map.
  • Various DLC items removed from in-game inventory. This includes Blood Dragon Armor, Warden's Commander Armor, etc.
  • An inability to access Warden's Keep, Honnleath, or the storage chest at Warden's Keep

We have discovered a new solution to this issue that you should attempt first:

  • Go in to your Dragon Age folder at C:/program files/origingames/dragonage and look for the _installer folder, then click on the DAOU_UpdateAddinsXML.exe file
  • then DAUServiceSetup.exe
In nearly all cases, this will fix the issue. In case this does not work, proceed to the following troubleshooting directions:

There's no DAOU_UpdateAddinsXML.exe nor DAUServiceSetup.exe in my _Installer folder.

We recommend checking to make sure your CD key is installed in your registry and logging into the server at least once before continuing to play if you experience any of these issues.

If you are unsure whether you have a CD key installed:

  • Run the daoriginsconfig.exe application
    • This should be found in the bin_ship folder in the directory you installed Dragon Age to.
  • Click Game on the bar on the left side of the application window.
  • You should see a box near the bottom of the application window called Product Keys.
  • If you have a CD key installed, it will be listed in that window. If not, please install your CD key.

Indeed, there's no CD key installed in there. However ...

To reinstall your CD key:

  • Navigate to the data directory on your installation CD.
  • Run DragonAge_code.exe
  • A prompt will now appear allowing you to re-enter your CD key.

... Since I got my game as a download from Origin I don't have an installation CD.

Please note that if you have saved your game while experiencing any of the symptoms, installing your CD key and logging into the server may not restore functionality to that save. You may need to reload from a previous save game that has not exhibited any of the symptoms."

So right now I don't know what else to do and I could use a little help.

(BTW, the bonus items bundle i working just fine.)

Thanks.

  • I have the same problem.....tho i bought Origins at release and have it on Origin.

All DLC works fine except for Stone Prisoner. Under my DAO icon in Origin it also didnt show the stone prisoner DLC (and others i already have bought).

I got into contact with EA live help, and eventually the added it to my account on their end (even though i own it already) and it downloaded through Origin and now works.

I guess when they added the game to Origin they messed up some DLC.

Edit: and now my awakenings expansion doesnt want to work....
