DAO Ultimate - game doesn't start

Hi,

I have a problem with the game not starting at all, from the Launcher or directly the exe, I tried runnig it as admin and in compatibility mode, although nothing changed. There are no error messages or any indication that something is starting up, the process doesn't show even in task manager. The game is a digital copy from steam. 

Edit: Also I forgot to add my specs. OS - Win 7 Enterprise SP1 x86, CPU - i5 3470S, RAM - 8gb DDR3 1333MHz, Graphics - 240 GT 1gb VRAM. Hopefully it helps. The issue changed a little bit from the last time, now when I click Play in the launcher, the screen flashes a few times and then the launcher is started again, in task manager the process of the exe file appears, but ends almost immediately.

    I have the same issue. I bought it today. Why the hell it's not working? I already had the game in no-steam and it worked fine without any problems...

    I also have this issue as described by a number of others in multiple recent threads in this sub-forum.

    Launch DAO from Steam, purchased a few days ago, brings up the Steam CD Key screen showing DAO Ult and DAO Ult DLC cd keys, hit the play button, DAO launcher comes up with intro music, hit the play button, launcher closes and nothing happens.

    Win 7 Pro, X6 1090T, GTX680, 16Gb RAM, plenty of HDD space, have buckets of other games running with no dramas, updated to Nvidia 344.11 hoping this issue had something to do with the previous driver but issue persists.

    Hello,

    I've checked the reliability monitor, but I didin't have any crashes from the day I built this PC, not even any issue that wouldn't get added into the list. I'll try to get the game via Origin and see what it does.

    Edit: Ok, I didn't need to try the workaround, either it was already fixed, or setting all executables in the DAO bin folder to run as admin made it, the game now works for me.
