I've been having the same issue for days now with my 970 GTX and a i7-2600K (quad core).
When i got the game I played for about 15 hours with a 570 GTX without any crash or issue and then the moment I switched for my 970 its been the worse gaming experience ever. I haven't crashed with my 970 GTX in any other games so it's really a problem with DA:I.
I switched off AO and saw no real improvement. Updated my PC to all the latest drivers. I'm now considering re-installing my old 570 until the game gets patched.
I am getting the same, already in contact with EA support, but I am pretty sure this won't get resolved.
AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition CPU @ 3.21GHz and a 660ti 3GB + 8GB RAM.
Reinstalled Origin and the game itself, cleaned everything off of my PC, checked registry, checked %appdata% and checked if my PSU was the culprit, but it happens with my girlfriends PSU as well, she can play the game normally. Checked different monitors, it still happens.
All my temps are below 60 most of the time, sometimes peaking to 65C on the GPU only, rest stays below 60C.
I noticed that for me personally the crashes mostly happen when I enter the war room/choose missions, or in cutscenes. I had a case where the cutscene when you first enter Val Royeux caused a crash. For some reason I got through it when I changed the audio settings, and turned all sound off in the game.
Don't know what else I can do, will just wait for a patch or maybe ask for a refund as I can't play the game in any form right now.
