Dragon Age: Inquisition fails to launch, Direct message DXGI_ERROR_INVALID_CALL

Hi,

I purchased Origin's DAI game of the year with expansion packs a few days ago and have been playing it, but today it won't launch.  I get the error in the attached screen shot.

Text of error:

DirectX function "screen->swapChain->ResizeBuffers(renderer->m_settings->getTripleBufferingEnable() ? 3 : 2, screen->info.windowWidth, screen->info.windowHeight, DXGI_FORMAT_R8G8B8A8_UNFORM, DXGI_SWAP_CHAIN_FLAG_ALLOW_MODE_SWITCH)" failed with Direct DXGI_ERROR_INVALID_CALL ("The application provided invalid parameter data; this must be debugged and fixed before the application is released."). GPU: :NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080", Driver 37878

I have also attached a dxdiag.

I hope someone can help.  I had this earlier and thought I had fixed it after updating my video driver and rebooting, but it happened again.  Both times, it started when I was alt-tabbed out of the game when I tried to go back into the game while on a remote connection via team viewer.  Before I did this via team viewer, I never had a problem...

  • 2 things I would look at and see if makes any difference.

    1)  Check your video options, and make sure your video resolutions are still the same and didn't get changed by team viewer, and the refresh rate and all is still correct.

    2)  Try deleting the files profileoptions, and profileoptions_options in your DAI saves folder in your user folder.

    C:\Users\username\Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age Inquisition\Save

^^  Typical address, may vary depending on your individual computer, but should be close, I run Win10.

Thanks!  I went to try that but before I did I tried starting the game one more time and now it's working again, but it flashes several times between fullscreen and partial screen.  If the problem comes back I will try that.
