Dragon Age: Inquisition Pre-Load Failure

Hello.

About my PC Specs: I am using Windows 7 64-bit Professional with more than enough hard drive space, 16 GB RAM, AMD FX 8320 8-core processor and a 2GB NVidia GeForce GTX 680.

About my Origin Download Issue:  I've been trying for hours to download DA:I. Origin tells me every time that it is asking Windows for permission to download, but I receive no pop-ups. It hangs on "Preparing to install" and then tells me the install is paused before it ultimately declares the download failed.

I have tried all of these things, plus a few I am sure I'm forgetting:

1) Disabled Firewall

2) Disabled Antivirus

3) Origin has full access to the Internet and to make changes to my PC

4) I have run the application as an administrator (my account is the only one on this PC, and indeed already has Aministrator status)

5) I have uninstalled and then reinstalled the Origin application

6) I have run PC/Registry cleaning software to be sure there are no conflicts

7) Restarted PC a million times

8) Added the TCP and UDP ports listed on the Origin site to my safe list

9) User Account Control Settings were turned to "Never notify."

Please.  Someone.  Anyone.  Help?  This is absurd.  I pre-orderd this game through Origin because I thought it would make my life easier and get me the game faster.  I am so completely disappointed and irritated.

If any further information is needed, please let me know.  I will respond ASAP.

Thank you in advance.

  • Hi everyone:

This morning, I put a request in for a call from the EA Help Desk regarding this issue, and Richard W. was an outstanding help to me.  I am currently downloading DA:I flawlessly.

While what seemed to help my issue was to delete the Origin folders in ProgramData and my User folder, I would suggest that anyone having this issue go here: http://help.ea.com/en/ and request a call back from one of these knowlegable techs.  😕mileyhappy:  I am a very happy customer!!

    Thanks.  😕mileyvery-happy:

UAC should actually set to notify. What was it set to before you turned off the notifications?

Hi there:  UAC was originally set to "Always Notify" before I changed it.

I've reverted all of my settings since nothing has worked previously.

    Thanks for your time.

  • Has anyone else who's said they've had the same issue as me found any solutions yet?

I assume this is an Origin-side issue (due to all the resolutions I've tried on my end), but I am growing concerned that I will not be able to download this game by its release on Tuesday.

    Thanks!

    Bump.

Other people have the same problem, and no one has been able to aid us yet.  I'm on Day 3 of not being able to pre-load this game.

As I said in my previous post, what fixed my problem may not fix yours.

Follow the link in my previous post and get in contact with support over the phone.  It's really the best, if not only, option.

    Good luck!
