I would like to second that. I tried every proposed solution on the first three pages of the google search results.
Reinstall - multiple times,
Game client and DLC all on the same directory,
Deleting just the DLC folders and installing as new,
Deleting license folders,
temp files cleared,
registry cleaned,
new windows account,
synchronizing with Dragon Age Keep,
being logged in/ not being logged in,
.ini edits,
installing it from the original disc I bought in 2011,
I even went through all of these steps on an entirely different PC. Nothing worked.
One slight difference to Aria1's problem, is that I have access to the DLC that came with the Bioware Signature Edition. The others don't show up in the EA App, and if istalled using the individual wizards, they're marked as unauthorized in game.
Sice this is a twelve year old game, where even a company like EA no longer cares to monetize the DLC, it would be much appreciated if you could change my registered copy to the ultimate edition. I will gladly provide anything you need to make that happen.
If you are not allowed to do that, I'll just move on with my life. DA:2 is a blast from the past and I'd love to play it again, but I'm neither able nor willing to spend more time troubleshooting than playing.
@Rekr_RAMBO Thank you for the list. IF they had not worked on another PC, I would need someone to look into the account and all the entitled DLCs and content on it. I get not wanting to troubleshoot it though. As for granting any content or editions of the game, that I am afraid would not happen.
What is ould suggest is to create a case or update a case and request it be escalated.
@holger1405 Do you have any additional suggestions for the player?
All I got from my support case were a few of the suggestions I listed as non-functional. And with all due respect, I've had enough experiences with EA support to know that an "escalation" would only escalate the time I waste on this, nothing more.
I suppose it's my fault, for thinking that anything related to EA would not be willfully neglected, once it's no longer monetized.
Thank you for your time and have a nice day.

@Rekr_RAMBOI also had access to signature rewards as well as the dog, sabastian and the black emporium. Anything that was a dlc purchase separate from the game itself is where the issue lies not sure if that helps.
One other thing that may or may not be relevant on my main ea account says I joined 2011 however in the app same account says 2014? The one and only time I had everything working was when I was loading the game or logging in and intentionally disconnected from internet, this was years ago and not a feasible option anymore for me but might help someone. - holger14052 years agoHero+
I think this is an account mismatch.
@Aria1 Are you sure you don't have a second Origin/EA account?
This "my main ea account says I joined 2011 however in the app same account says 2014?" plus the problem itself points to it.
@Holgar1405 well now that I said something I can't find where I seen the 2014 thought it was the EA app but not seeing it?
Also i do have another old account and I had checked that honestly unsure why I made another account, it was made in 2009 and the only game on that account is DAO. - holger14052 years agoHero+
Is it possible to check if the DLCs are connected to this second account?

@holger1405 I can, it takes way more time for me to do it though because I am not support but coming from support I can.
@Aria1 If you send me a DM with the email I can, or you can hit up chat and have them check it which may be faster to look it up. Either way we can def check the account(s) and see where they are tied to.
However, if they happen to be on another account and you want them on the account you play on, you would have to request an account merger with support. I cant move them.
- 2 years ago@holger1405 They are not as mentioned the only game on the other account is DAO.
@EA_ShepardI can give you you the other account email, however I already checked the account to see if any games overlapped between the two accounts.
DM has been sent.

@Aria1 I sent you a DM with the info.
Cheers!

I'm having these same issues. I've followed all of the steps that you outlined in your pot above and I followed this thread and I still can't get my DLCs to work!
@EA_ShepardOk so guess I did not check library when I looked at what games where on that account sorry about that.
So I have it on that account (the basic version) and have also the ultimate version on this account. You think that might be whats causing the dlc issue? And if I merge those 2 accounts that may solve the issue?
Also please ignore last DM its just repeat of what I am asking here. - 2 years ago
So I am in the process of merging accounts...here is hoping that works.

Hi @Aria1, Ideally it should. I've done many of those and it has fixed a lot of issues with account issues with games like this due to games being applied to another account. Let us know if it works out for you! - 2 years ago@EA_Shepard Not sure how well this is going, one email made it sound like merging of accounts was close to being done. Now 12 or however many emails and different people responding, I am being directed to change my internet virtual machine settings???
Never even mentioned anything about virtual machine..honestly unclear how to proceed. - EA_Shepard2 years ago

@Aria1 If all you are doing is a basic account merger, that has nothing to do with virtual machines or anything. Is this on the same case you set up?
Account mergers are simple. You make a request, they tell you what happens, try to merge what can be, and you're golden. There's not really anything the player needs to be doing on their end.
- 2 years ago@EA_Shepard This is the same original case that started with me asking for a merger, after your suggestion that might solve the da2 unauthorized dlc issue.
To be fair, I did ask a couple times to be clear the older account was to be merged with the newer one not the other way around.
But other then that and the original explanation as to why I wanted to merge account.. all emails have been either a new person asking for account verification code, talking about merger or the last one virtual machine nonsense.
Sorry for wall of text....any suggestions you might have would be great, also thanks for all the assistance you have already provided. - EA_Shepard2 years ago

Hi @Aria1, so they did do it, just backward? If that is the case I need you to send me a DM with the email to the account they were merged too and from if you can. I can notate the account to see if they can merge it correctly. - EA_Shepard2 years ago

Hi @Aria1, This should be fixed now. Can you check everything and make sure everything is working on the right account? - 2 years ago
@EA_ShepardWill let you know how it turns out.
Still unauthorized and also old account is still there...thought merger meant it would go away?
- EA_Shepard2 years ago

@Aria1 I kind of expected it to happen. Go into the documents folder or wherever you have the DLC installed and delete all of it. Then repair the game and redownload it.
With mergers since it's all technically now on a different account, it needs to authorize the right download. The PC could be seeing the license and servers trying to activate something you don't own.
This is was a big thing years back. Way before the EA app. What I do is I use a registry cleaner. You don't have to but if there is one you use, delete everything and clean the registry before you reinstall it over.
Your PC, unless cleaned out, will try to use the registry to validate those files and if you don't own them or the account doesn't any longer, you will get an error.
- 2 years ago@EA_Shepard Completely removed ea launcher and uninstalled DA2 then did a registry clean using revo uninstaller pro, reinstalled game and as you can guess nothing changed.

@Aria1 , When you launch the game, are you logged in from the settings?
You will see this under "Options" and "Accounts"
Also, do you have more than one drive? I can't remember if I asked it. If so, can you download the game and the app to the other drive?
- 2 years ago@EA_Shepard Yes I am logged in at the settings says tied to account at my email. I did have it installed on a new drive and then with this latest attempt reinstalled back to C drive.

@Aria1 And now both are on the same drive?
Have you tried to set up a new Windows account to test it on yet? The account itself is fine which indicates an install or folder issue. I had someone look over the account a few times, and even though I cant log in as you and test it, we need to see if it may be a Windows account issue, or if something is not recognizing the install.
Realistically that error happens only for a couple of reasons, and the account is no longer one of them.
- 2 years ago@EA_Shepard If by both you mean EA app and the game install then yes, as for installing another windows 10 for testing..would windows 11 update serve the same testing purpose?
