There are so many things that could be going on that without detailed information it's impossible to tell.
But regardless, both of you should contact an EA Game Advisor to get this sorted.
They are the only ones who can resolve problems with accounts, codes, and game authorizations.
Reach them through the Help Center.
After getting to the Help Center and filling out the required information, (Product/Problem/Platform)
look for the "Chat Now", "Call Now", or "Email Now" buttons, not the AHQ "Ask Now" one. (You've already done that.)
The options you see may vary depending on your region and the time-of-day.
If you select "Chat Now" or "Call Now", be sure you have enough time (at least one hour) to wait before being connected to someone. 😕mileyfrustrated:

I've been waiting to be connected to an EA advisor since last night. I'm about ready to give up.

i found something
i have the disk for the game so i installed that way
and tested all the types if install methods via origin and Disk
it seems that awakeining will not install via oragin if the servies network file called daupdatersvc.service.exe is missing. from the folder
Origin file bugs out and will remove it from the \bin_ship\ folder.
so i tested both from disk installed and now updated via origin so i would not need the disk's and its overwrote the system and removed the daupdatersvc.service.exe again
seems to be only an issue with Dragon age orgines from Orgin program test the other way with disk Origins and program origin and it worked
so installing awakeing is tired to daupdatersvc.service.exe missing from the install and there no way to fix it in windows 8 because the file auto deletes it self - Ensomnea12 years agoNot applicable
Anyone having any luck?
I spent 4 hours on chat with tech support last night, and the problem hasn't been fixed. I'm tired of being told to redownload DA: Origins since it works fine. Awakening will not install.

I have a workaround to manually get Awakening installed.
Btw "...\Origin Games\" is where Origin places your installed games. By default, the path is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\" on 64-bit Windows.
First, you will need to copy two folders into your Dragon Age install:
Copy "...\Origin Games\Dragon Age Origins Awakening\addins" to "...\Origin Games\Dragon Age\addins",
and "...\Origin Games\Dragon Age Origins Awakening\packages\core_ep1" to "...\Origin Games\Dragon Age\packages\core_ep1".
Now open a command prompt and navigate to "...\Origin Games\Dragon Age Origins Awakening\".
Type in the following command, but substitute your path to Dragon Age in /manifest:
DAO_UpdateAddinsXml.exe /addins="Bioware\Dragon Age\Settings\addins.xml" /manifest="...\Origin Games\Dragon Age\addins\dao_prc_ep_1\manifest.xml"
For example, a default install on 64-bit Windows command would be:
DAO_UpdateAddinsXml.exe /addins="Bioware\Dragon Age\Settings\addins.xml" /manifest="C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Dragon Age\addins\dao_prc_ep_1\manifest.xml"
Run Dragon Age: Origins and Awakening should now be in "Other Campaigns." I hope EA gives us a real fix soon.

This issue seems to stem from the update to1.05, as it's not one I had before. If so, I fear that this issue will have to be resolved by Bioware.
- ThandalNLyman12 years agoNot applicableThe 1.05 patch addressed some registry-related DLC authorization issues and problems encountered for players with DX-10 video cards. So unlikely to be the cause of this...
