Hair blurring at edges, especially with black hair? (PC)
Using both dx9 and 11 I am having issues with characters' hair blurring at the edges, especially when they are head on. It happens almost always with black or brown hair, but always with characters who have longer hair. Even characters like Gamlem have their hair blurring in the back because it's long enough. It's really annoying because if I play as default Hawke, the spiky bits of her hair are really blurred.
I've tried toggling all of the settings available to me on dx11, and it seems fiddling with the sliders doesn't really help.
Other than this issue, everything runs smoothly, save for a hiccup in lag here or there. Has anyone else had this issue and been able to fix it?
If it helps, I'm running Win 7(64 bit), I have an AMD Radeon HD 7800 series graphics card, and my processor says it's an Intel Core i5-3570 CPU @ 3.40GHz. I have 8 gigs of RAM. I have updated all of my drivers and direct x to it's latest updates.
This behavior is "by-design". Supposed to represent the "fine wisps, blowing in the breeze or with the character's motion".
NOTE: While it's a completely different game engine and rendering system, the same sort of thing happens in ME3 when characters are in environments that partially obscure sight, (like in Javik's quarters on the Normandy) except that it's the entire hairstyle that becomes blurry and semi-transparent!
