Is there a way to zoom the tactical cam out further?

I just had a really hard time with the Pride Demon. I'd see the rift, enter tactical mode, and then the camera would zoom in further and I'd lose sight of it. I could not figure out how to pan the thing far enough to click the rift. I'd have to unpause, let my party keep getting hammered while I run backwards far enough that on reentering tactical I could see the rift again.

There must be some way to zoom it out far enough to use Tactical mode tactically...right? Or at least enable free rotate?

The only way I know of is via using Cheat Engine, which has a zoom script for DAI. Kind of awkward to use, though, as you must go through some hoops before launching the game.
