After installing patch 3, all my crafted shields had their armor rating reset to 0 and every time I try to craft a Darkspawn Alpha Shield and equip it on my main character, it's gone after a save/load. No way around it, it disappears every time. Others on the forum have reported the same issue. Would appreciate a hotfix, since I can't really play my sword & shield guy with half of his weaponry missing.

Hey again, As previously stated this issue is being investigated at a high priority. As for the testing the studio works very hard on that and I hope you can respect that there always has to be a careful balance between testing an upcoming patch for eternity and releasing it within a timely fashion. If you just have a look around other threads it can be frustrating if you experience an issue and would like it to be fixed yesterday. However, due to the complexity of software development even seemingly 'small' issues are not necessarily easy to fix. In summary, we are working very hard to resolve this one as well as other issues as soon as possible but it will require some time. Thank you, Nils

I'm also not blaming specific people. Of course one can miss certain issues. Two can miss vertain issues. Even three or more people could make mistakes. My naive hope though is that there are more than a handfull in Biowares QA department.Well...I too like to play DAI on the weekend, but I have a backup plan: I never actually took Iron Bull with me because he is not a real tank (and since my own character is an archer I need a tank normally). I guess I'll take him for a stroll. :D

After Patch 3, I notice that a shield I had crafted BEFORE the patch now has zero armor:
Zero-armor shield
And the character's stat page confirms this is no display bug, the shield is adding zero armor:
Armor and Armor: Front are the same

Additional info:
- Crafted shields display has having 0 armor and neither add nor subtract any armor. Why do I say it that way? Because...
- Seeker's Shield, a non-crafted shield purchased in a shop, has a display value of 16 and was SUBTRACTING 16 armor from a character already wearing it.
- Removing the Seeker's Shield and re-equipping it fixed it. Armor and Armor: Front display expected values.
- Removing and re-equipping the crafted shield did no good.

The same happens to me with a crafted shield too. I can confirm also that some shields, even newly crafted ones, subtract the armor out: the front armor is now less than the normal armor.

Can confirm my crafted shields' front armor rating dropping to zero. All attributes still apply to the character's (Iron Bull) stats, except for the armor buff, which does nothing.

quick fix...Recraft your Shield or Armor..Anything crafted it seems to be a side effect of the patch. i know it sucks but it fixes it ..it will be interesting to see if they hotfix this or not

It isn't really a fix because the problem is still there.

True, but at most you will have to replace 3 shields (when your own character is sword & shield), 4 if you reskilled Iron Bull. Shields also can't hold masterwork materials and since looted / bought shields are also not affected, the loss in material and money is very low.
At least it's far from being a show-stopper, like #CrincleGate after patch 2. 😕mileyvery-happy:

@ Godzillagspb, actually shields can hold masterwork materials and the t3 shields are a huge drain on resources if you used dragon materials (because you should have due to the functionality of the game pre-patch) so this really is a big deal.
Losing out on 40+ T4 (well some t3 cause no one gives a **bleep** about fire protection) matierals when there is now a finite supply of them in the first place is majorly bad.
