Do you use Windows? If so what version? If you say Vista or 7, then you should download Microsoft Security Esentials. It is a far simpler, and better, AV Software that works well with Windows. Low resource usage, and it doesn't automatically block, stop, delete, or 'quarantine' files. It always asks you before doing anything. But best of all is that it's free. Windows 8/8.1 come pre-loaded with Windows Defender built into the OS, this does the same thing. So really, if you have Windows Vista-8.1, you don't need a 3rd-party AV software. So you could avoid this problem in the future and keep your PC protected. Of course this is all assuming you trust my opinion.
