Random companion damage, out of combat
I have noticed this evening that my AI controlled companions are taking odd damage spikes while exploring out of combat. It's most noticable with low HP characters, which will take 2-3 bars of damage...

Almost a year later and the problem is still there... Hissing waste & storm coast has been the worst for me.. my companions uses all my potions for no reason, having to go back to a camp just to refill.. jeez.
Still having this issue myself. No one area seems worse than any others, just seems completely random. It's really nothing more than an inconvenience, since elfroot is as common as grass, but it's rather annoying at times. You'd think it's something they could/would/should have fixed in a patch by now, though.
If you have to jump or hop down to get there, assume someone in the party is going to take damage following you. It's annoying but, there are no fall damage mods that solve the problem. Just get one off Nexus or, Google for one and, read the install instructions.
