Re: Is there a fix for (almost) no music and banter yet?

Presume you're playing on PC.  Latest patch installed? (I think there was one that tried to address this.)  System Specs?  Style of play?

There are internal counters and timers that determine the frequency of both banter and ambient music.  If you have a low(er)-end rig it may affect which flags get processed (banter and music have relatively low priority.)  If there are too many higher priority events occurring, you won't get the lower ones at all.  And when you fast-travel and/or change the Party composition, they get reset completely.

Thanks for the quick reply 🙂

Yes, I'm playing on my PC with the latest patch installed.

My system specs (my dad says they shoudn't be problematic, but we both aren't 100% experts on this):

    System: Windows 8.1, 64 Bit

Intel Core i7-4770 CPU 3.40 GHz

    16 GB Ram

    AMD Radeon R9 200 series

It might indeed be bugs that occured because of my playstyle at some point. I used to do a lot of fast traveling and left the war table several times without picking a location to travel to. Someone on reddit wrote the "no music" bug happens in combination with the war table.

About the banter: It's not like I never hear them, just very rarely (less than once in an hour). One time Cole and Varric started to talk about something and a guard interrupted them to tell me there's nothing he can report me right now (so lame!). But shouldn't there be some banter every 15-20 minutes? My party changes only after my inventory is full and I'm forced to travel back to Skyhold. I don't fast travel anymore at all during exploration, since I hoped that would fix at least the music bug. Do battles or comments from my character also interrupt the banter and music? Like if I spam "V" to find objects and she says "There should be something important here"?

I also noticed today, during Celene's rescue mission, after I talked to Morrigan the first time, the music played non-stop on all areas. But as soon as the mission was over and I visited Syhold and after that Val Royeux, no music again. And if I remember correctly, during Hushed Whispers, there was also background music for way longer than a few seconds. Is there a method to set the priority of banter and music higher? Those two places seemed to have the perfect settings for this issue.
