I've had this exact same issue occur on multiple characters on multiple playthroughs.
does EA even read this *?
will they ever fix any of the NUMEROUS bugs associated with repeatable quests?
how did so many issues slip through play testing?
this is why people pirate video games.
because no one seems to be capable of putting out a quality product when it's supposedly "finished."
I'm experiencing this bug too. While annoying, it's a relatively minor issue in a game filled with so much detail and things to do. Suggesting that people pirate games because of trifling issues like this is pretty dumb, when we know it's because they're cheap and/or enjoy the thrill of sticking it to "the man". I get that your "OCD" is causing you to be unnecessarily harsh about this one minor glitch, but try to see the bigger picture and not let it ruin your day or your game experience.
This orlesian lore requisition on the plains is the only bug I haven't been able to overcome and clear from my quest list. I wonder, it starts requiring 3 things:
- gather Orlesian lore
- 5 tomes
- 3 writings
Gathering the tomes and writings seems to also satisfy the first check box for Orlesian lore but I wonder if that's it's own requirement?
I don't think they would let their OCD bother them if this was the only "minor glitch" in the game. Unfortunately there are so many "minor "glitches that it is detracting from the overall gaming experience.
This is the only persistent glitch I've encountered in over 100 hours in the game, at least on PC. This is a very minor glitch, with the only real consequence that you can't clear your journal of missions. It doesn't affect the story, the gameplay, or the experience except for nitpicky nerds who want something to complain about. Even so, I'm annoyed with this glitch, but not enough to let it ruin my day or the game, unlike with that other kid.
Not just repeatable quests. There are many unfixed bugs still.
I have the Orlesian tomes quest uncompleted (reloaded to before I tried to complete it) but now I can't get new quests in Emerald Graves despite having completed my first quest there (Dalish tomes). I can go back to Crestwood & get new quest there, but completing that doesn't get me new quests in Emerald Graves. Unfortunately I've overwritten all saves prior to Exalted Plains so have no way to go back to before I got the Orlesian quest short of restarting the whole game. Very frustrating!
@Player_j97nr3wk It's a known bug.
Will never get fixed (by BioWare, some modder may figure out a way. We can hope...)
We all (myself included) just have to live with it.
