[Steam] Dragon Age Origins - Ultimate Edition Not Launching

Will a fix be made for this games inability to launch in Win 11 from Steam.

I'd like to play but cant get past the config utility crashing to desktop.

Have tried a laundry list of fixes from various Steam and other websites.

Any fixes just in case I havnt already tried would be appreciated too.

Looks like it has to do with reported CPU count.

I found a workaround posted on reddit. This allowed the config tool to run properly. https://www.reddit.com/r/DragonageOrigins/comments/otrgc0/dragon_age_origins_ultimate_edition_wont_boot/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

I found this fix :
- Download the latest Windows ADK for your specific Windows version : https://learn.microsoft.com/en-Us/windows-hardware/get-started/adk-install
During installation, it gives the option to select multiple tools; the only one needed is Compatibility Administrator.
- Once installed, open the Start Menu folder named Windows Kits, and launch Compatiblity Administrator (32-bit).
- Select the new database under custom databases.
- Click the database menu > Create New > Application Fix.
- Provide the full path of DAOriginsConfig.exe and give it a name of choosing.
- Skip past the compatibility mode options.
- In compatibility fixes select ProcessorCountLieForHybridCPU and ProcessorCountLie.
- Select Next and finish
- Press CTRL +S on your Keyboard or click on "Save"
- give it a name when prompted and try to save the database file in the same directory if possible
- Click on "run".

@6418e6a199841592 Due to the age of the game, there are no planned updates to resolve any issues with the game at this time. For older titles like this, there has to be something major happening within the entire gaming community for any type of update to be looked at.

Can you attach a DxDiag? We can take a look at that and see if we can find any issues that may be causing it to crash like that!

I also experience this problem.

New install. Either start game from Steam or manually run the bin_ship/DAOrigins.exe, and the launcher loads. Click Play, it launches the configuration tool, reads "Please wait while the system information is collected" and then crashes.

Sadly it does not appear to be working even with the CPU fixes.
Strangely it will run on my win 11 home (vs Pro on the desktop) laptop. Both have Ryzen 9 processors and amd gpu's.
Laptop is 1 gen older and has an 8/16 vs the desktop's 16/32

The problem with the config.exe is due to the high core count of modern PCs, the game itself should not be affected.

Is the config.exe running with the core fix?
