Dragon Age Veilguard PC (serious stutter and frame drops every 5 seconds)

Ran into the same problem. 
Tried every combination of V-Sync, Buffering, Frame cap...
Installed the regedit "fix" on nexus. It worked once, then it suttered again the next game session.
I have not found a solution yet. Even asked EA for help (only troubleshooting so far, also no solution)
I suspect a bug in display settings.

After some testing it seems that after re-starting the PC it is possible to run the game smoothly for one session until I close it. If I start the game a second time after that, the stuttering appears again.

Might this be some caching issue?

(Specs i9 9900K, RTX 3090, 32GB RAM, SSD)

- Open the game installation folder
- Right-click on the executable file 'Dragon Age The Veilguard.exe'
- Choose the Compatibility tab
- Choose the following options from Settings
- Disable full-screen optimizations
- Click on the 'Change high DPI settings' button
- In 'Program DPI' choose 'Use this setting to fix scaling problems...'
- Save all these new settings

Thanks for the suggestion. Tried it, did not make a difference. Still stutters after the first gaming session and fps around 54-57 instead of buttersmooth 60 as before.

After more troubleshooting and getting a bit of help from an AI assistant (more help than the EA support) I got to the following possible causes of the stuttering: 

1. Game-Specific Memory or VRAM Management Issue: It’s likely the game isn’t fully releasing memory or VRAM when closed, so restarting it leaves insufficient resources, causing stutters and frame drops.
2. Shader Cache or Temporary File Issue: If the game uses a shader cache or temporary files that aren’t fully cleared upon exit, this could lead to degraded performance on subsequent launches.
3. Driver/Game Compatibility Issue: There may be a driver-related compatibility issue specific to this game, which could worsen with repeated launches if certain resources aren’t managed correctly by the driver.

It would be great if someone of the developer team could look at this please!

Same problem here. I have dropped every setting (actually first started doing two or three at a time to try to isolate which one), and nothing affects it at all. I thought it might be the rain since sometimes weather can cause issues but I don't see a way to turn that off, and besides all the other graphics tuning should address that. And my PC is well over requirements. Since launch I've been having to restart the game every hour or so which seemed to fix it, but as of today I can't even play because it's like a stop-motion film. Really hoping this gets fixed soon.

Hopefully it gets fixed soon. I do not like the idea of changing the voltage of my CPU honestly.

What seems to have helped in my case was increasing the shader cache limit in the GPU control panel (Geforce in my case) to 100GB, suggested by a fellow gamer on steam. 

Needs a bit of further testing but looked good the first couple of times so far.
