Bonus armour not appearing for second character

Hi, I started the game and got to the lighthouse. A wardrobe was in the room with injured varric with the bonus cosmetics for armours etc. I decided to try playing as a different race but the wardrobe didn't appear this time until I had opened Rooks room and it has not appeared in the wardrobe.
