I wanted to check if anyone is still running into a DirectX Error?
If so, be sure to try the steps on our post: Dragon Age The Veilguard - Technical Assistance & Bug Reports | EA Forums - 4985821
We can also try a few workarounds depending on exactly what is happening.
- Unable to continue past "Press Start To Play" - Try making changes to Windows Defender, steps here.
- Crashing during Shader Compilation - Check for BIOS, Windows, and Graphics Driver updates.
- Inputs not registering in Character Creator or when playing, Try disabling any third-party software (like Razer Synapse) and check if this continues. If this continues, try using a different peripheral.
After going through the above troubleshooting and workaround. If you continue crashing at launch or when trying to start a new game, please let us know the following.
- EA ID (PSN ID/Gamertag):
- Which platform or client are you on?
- Are you getting an error message?
- If possible, share a Screenshot or Clip...
- If on PC, please share a DxDiag file and an EA app Error ID Number
We can use this information, to help make the team aware of the issue and to further investigate.

Tried all of that, no missing files or anything found. I will try playing again after work to see if it pops up again, but seeing as a few people are running into issues (and the performance not looking quite as good as I thought it would) I'll share my DxDiag here
im having this issue when talking to harden. and none of the steps in the above post pretain to this error
Got through cc without a problem. Gameplay is fine. Cinematics make it crash everytime. Then I reload and it plays the cinematic it crashed on before, but crashes on the next new one. Would love a fix Sophie_b23
Hi there, having the same issue as the poster. The game won't even load, I get this message immediately after launching the game through Steam. Any solutions? I have tried many suggested 'fixes' like reinstalling and updated the GPU drivers, disabling full screen optimizations, firewall access, clean boot, starting the game in administrator mode, etc, etc. Was really looking forward to playing the game...
