I can't even get that far. I launch it and get a blank screen for a few seconds before it crashes.

Same here except my entire computer freezes. Very aggravating

Game will not launch for me at all. I click the game to launch it goes to a black screen then closes. I repaired the installiation and now when i launch it, my whole computer restarts? I have a 4090 and an i9 CPU 64 gigs of ram, everything updated etc. Please help.

I was able to play for 6 hours yesterday without any crashes on my 1080ti, but I just reached the "Ritual Site at the Ancient Bridge" section of the game and the game crashes within 2-3 minutes.
Fixes I've tried that were unsuccessful:
- updated graphics driver
- updated BIOS
- confirmed Windows is up to date
- deleted Shaders cache folder for Veilguard
- repaired game files in Steam
- uninstalled and reinstalled the game
- uninstalled and reinstalled NVIDIA GeForce Experience since I have been unable to optimize the game in GeForce Experience. My wife has a 2060 GPU and has had no issues being able to optimize game settings in GeForce Experience.
- lowered game graphics settings
- changed Shader Cache Size to 100 GB on NVIDIA Control Panel
- confirmed PhysX settings are set to graphics card in NVIDIA Control Panel
- freed up over 300 GB of space on SSD
I have done every fix I can find without success. I think this is going to require a hotfix from BioWare. - SiirulinenNew Rookie
Hi is ea doing something about this crashes??? I think its quite sad that you waste your money and then you cant even play :/ i mean yes game released 31.10 but like is ea even doing something about this or just like naah?? Would be nice to know if ea is trying to fix it... . EA_Illium

Doubtful. EA has never fixed crashing issues from the previous DA games, so i don't expect them to now. Havent seen a release this broken since Battlefield 3. Guess I'll be looking for a refund, because it's not going to be playable anytime soon...
EA just wants their money and doesn't care about their fan base, and it's showed plenty of times over the years. Can't even get an acknowledgement that it's an issue from the mods on the official forum, just basic troubleshooting tips that don't work that any 3 year old would've already done. Sad.

Do we have any news on that? EA_Illium
The game is unplayable for so many, and the solutions (including a BIOS update, which I've *never* seen a game require) are temporary at best and it keeps going back to crashing. Even information that the devs are aware of and working on it would be appreciated.

I too have a problem tried literally everything :/ bios/graphics etc. update, making game exception so it can go through firewall, unistalling, repairing, trying to run with small windows, running as admistator and yes I have checked my computer parts are good to go with this game. I mean this is just sad :(

Same issue for me. Game crashes basically one second after launch. Once crashed my PC altogether. Verified game files. Disabling Steam overlay did not help. Windows and Graphics drivers are up to date. Specs GeForce RTX 4080 Super, Intel I-9-14900k, 32GB RAM

Update: After going through two more crashes I'm starting to notice a pattern: They always happen during cutscenes/dialogue whenever the autosave icon is rotating in the bottom right corner. Could the issue be related to the auto save feature?
Finally got a flash drive so I could update my BIOS. I did so, and the game ran smooth for about 5 minutes in the prologue, then crashed my entire PC again. At this point I'm about to ask for a refund. EA_Illium- EA ID (PSN ID/Gamertag): Sharpeh_Firebear, but I bought it on steam. Steam ID is raedoe
- Which platform or client are you on? steam on pc
- Are you getting an error message? no
- If possible, share a Screenshot or Clip... impossible to do so, since the ENTIRE PC crashes.
- If on PC, please share a DxDiag file and an EA app Error ID Number
Extremely upsetting that I preordered this game and it's completely unplayable. My PC specs are far better than the minimum requirements. My drivers are up to date. My BIOS is up to date. The inside of the pc is clean. I have tried deleting shader cache. I've uninstalled/reinstalled. I've turned off VSYNC. This is absolutely ridiculous. It's been out 3 days, no patch, no clear solutions.

Unfortunately, the patched released today on 11/7 still did not solve the problem. My game still crashes spontaneously. Sometimes in 10 minutes, sometimes in 1 minute. I'm refunding this game. Very disappointed with the lack of engagement from staff and then a 'bug fix' that hasn't succeeded. Maybe if there was engagement, they would know what to fix

Yeah had the same crashes before the patch, but now i cant launch the game at all anymore, with or without deleting shader cache..

I was able to play for 30 min, crashed, re entered, started compiling all over again, getting blue screens since then, updated and reinstalled using ddu, my cpu fans go mad when it's compiling the shaders.... seems like a cpu problem on thier end

Lucky you, 79% of compiling the shaders for me, but I had exactly the same problem with cpu fans, although my Win11 crashed without blue screen :/
