Update - got it to launch by going to local game files, folder Shader Cache. Deleted contents (copied to another desktop file). Game launched successfully.

[Information and Troubleshooting]
Hey Everyone,
I wanted to check if anyone is still seeing crashing at launch after updating their BIOS. If so, be sure to try the steps on our post: Dragon Age The Veilguard - Technical Assistance & Bug Reports | EA Forums - 4985821
We can also try a few workarounds depending on exactly what is happening.
- Unable to continue past "Press Start To Play" - Try making changes to Windows Defender, steps here.
- Crashing during Shader Compilation - Check for BIOS, Windows, and Graphics Driver updates.
- Inputs not registering in Character Creator or when playing, Try disabling any third-party software (like Razer Synapse) and check if this continues. If this continues, try using a different peripheral.
After going through the above troubleshooting and workaround. If you continue crashing at launch or when trying to start a new game, please let us know the following.
- EA ID (PSN ID/Gamertag):
- Which platform or client are you on?
- Are you getting an error message?
- If possible, share a Screenshot or Clip...
- If on PC, please share a DxDiag file and an EA app Error ID Number
We can use this information, to help make the team aware of the issue and to further investigate.
Cheers!

I'd just like to put this out there: Having to update our devices simply to get the game started is disappointing. I'm grateful I spend the money for advanced support for my PC to be able to get help for this without messing up my computer.

Reporting back that a bios update did in fact correct the problems I’ve been having with crashes at launch and general instability in the brief periods that I was able to get the game to run. I’m on PC, Asus PRIME Z790-P WIFI, with a GeForce RTX 4080 and an I9 processor.
I had tried all the other fixes recommended in this thread, finally bit the bullet and performed the Bios update. On launching DAV for the first time after the update I was able to see the shaders load to 100% for the first time and I’ve been playing without issue for about 3 hours now. No issues with restarting and loading current save file. - vividdreamer411 days agoRising Newcomer

I have tried everything you suggested plus some. I've updated the bios, the drivers, deleted shader cache, reinstalled the game a few times on internal and external drives. Restarted the pc several times and changed security settings several times - Nothing is working. I just bought the game yesterday. Here's all the other info I can provide.
EA ID: Vividdreamer4
PC - Predator Helios 300, EA App

This easy trick actually helped me, thanks man. Previously the game would just froze on black screen with purple icon and then pc just restarted itself. From that point im playing with no issues, gladly.😃
