Dualsense Edge and Keyboard icons overlapping

Can't seem to be able to use the controller fully. Mouse and Keyboard icons appear trying to get through the starting menus and create a character section. They basically flicker back and forth after every button press. For example, holding down the circle button just brings up the space bar icon. Letting go of the circle button makes it go back to the circle button icon. It's the EA play version. Don't think I have had this issue on Steam with any game. Didn't really find controller setting in the EA play app.
