Lucanis Romance Bug
I originally talked about this on the discord, because it's obviously frustrating and you do start to wonder if the romance is just badly done or if the problem is real despite all the obvious buggy red flags. This is the current amount of people who've seen it and are having the same or similar issues, so I'm putting it here too with some more detail.
Interaction with Companions Issues
Almost every single companion stopped talking to him as soon as the romance was confirmed. They'll occasionally do a post-quest banter or a very very occasional random one and then come right back to nothing.
I know there's still a lot of banter they haven't said, because it includes companions I hadn't taken out with him more than a handful of times. It also includes the banter where they would comment on the romance, only Neve had anything to say about it. No one in the lighthouse has had any ambient dialogue about the romance as of yet either (currently very near endgame), and I know that's a thing with the other routes.
Neve still talks sometimes. mostly in the lighthouse, but she talks a little more than the others do outside. Still less than other companion teams, but despite being the only one to have a banter acknowledging the romance, she still flirts as if it's heading for the companion version. I imagine that's not intentional, but I guess it's possible that she's just not that big on the girl code!
Interaction with Rook Issues
He cycled through the romance greetings one time each immediately post-commit and then went back to using the generic greetings. Like, I've tested it thoroughly trying to figure this out, he will literally never say them again. Most of the time he just says the very sullen "Rook." option, which I think we can all agree would probably prompt a Conversation if that was how our person was greeting us on the regular! He has no change in combat banter or any kind of quest commentary either.
His cutscenes and such trigger correctly, but they seem to be the only thing that's properly flagged. Even in personal quests, I don't think he's saying the romance version of his commentary as you move around, but obviously that's harder to tell without getting pretty far in an unromanced playthrough. I don't know if any romance has alternate lines for quests, but it would be normal for bw to have that so I'm including it.
I'm genuinely having more content for the inter-companion romance than I am for this Rook's actual LI. I see a good bit of arguing about if the Lucanis route is good or not and I think this bug or something like it is probably at the root of it, but is getting lost in the noise about the slow burn aspect.
On PC, tried both a repair and a fresh install when the problem first emerged with limited success. Neve did comment on the romance after I reinstalled, could be entirely coincidental though. His approval is fully maxed, unhardened and he's HotV.
