Missing Saves

This is apparently a recurring problem but I haven't seen a solution anywhere. I lost about 10 hours of gameplay despite frequently manually saving. I played earlier today but when I loaded the game in the evening it loaded back to the dragon attack on Minrathous. 

Is there a fix to this or do I just swear off EA?

    I just had a second game lock up when trying to save game.   Auto save is not retaining saved progress when the game crashes so it reverts back to the last manual save.   EA needs to fix both of these issues - no crashs, and auto-saves should not be deleted after the last manual save.
