Rooks appearance free cosmetic bugged

Ever since I downloaded it from the EA app in the add on section for veilguard, the game has been horrifically bugged. It either doesn't start at all OR I go to start a new game , it gets to the loading screen just before minrathous bar scene and it crashes out. Every single time.

I've un-installed then reinstalled my game, the graphics drivers n so on and it still does it. So I was wondering if anyone else is encountering this and if so is there a fix on the way?

Edit: I can't even remove the add-on from the game because in the ea app where it allows me to view/manage add-ons in my game library, the option to remove the add-on is missing
