Veilguard keeps crashing

Hey, same problem here — specs attached.

Downloaded the game this week through Game Pass. I’m a big DA fan, but Dragon Veilgard keeps giving me the same issue: I start playing and at completely random moments (usually during cutscenes) the screen freezes, audio keeps going, and then the whole PC just reboots.

I’ve already tried lowering settings, disabling hair options, switching between windowed/fullscreen, deleting cache and config files, running in compatibility mode, everything updated (NVIDIA drivers included), disabled scaling on the .exe… and it still crashes.

Do you get a BSOD at the crash or is the PC just shutting down?

Thy PNY VelocityX software is crashing a lot, do you use it do overclock your GPU?

    Thanks the reply.

There no BSOD, at first the game freezed, sounds still goes on, and after few seconds it just reboot

VelocityX I used it to force the led color for the RT3080, I close it down every time I play DAV, but I'll try not running it at the startup and Ijust double checked there is no GPU overcloking active.

Hard crashes without a BSOD are almost always hardware-related, and most of the time they are related to power issues.

What PSU do you use. (Vendor and type.)

    Try to repair the game.

(EA app: Game Library > Click on the three dots on the game cover > Repair)
(Steam: Game Library > Right-click the game > Properties > Local Files > Verify integrity of game files.)

    Then preform a Clean Boot:
A clean boot is a process that starts Windows with a minimal set of services and startup programs. This can help eliminate or find software conflicts.

How to perform the clean boot:

    • Press Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box.
    • Type “msconfig” (Without the quotes.) > Enter.
    • In the System Configuration window, go to the Services tab.
    • Check the box that says, “Hide all Microsoft services”.
    • Click Disable all. (Make sure the EABackgroundService remains enabled.)
    • Go to the Startup tab and click Open Task Manager.
    • In the Task Manager, disable all startup items that are activated.
    • Close Task Manager and go back to the System Configuration window, then click OK.
    • Restart the computer, the PC will start into clean boot mode.
    • Test the Game

      2. Additional Steps (Inside the Clean Boot Mode)
    • Ensure your virus scanner and other security software are disabled.
    • Disable Afterburner and similar software.
    • Make sure any CORSAIR/ASUS/RAZER software is disabled or uninstalled.
    • Ensure your GPU and CPU are not overclocked.
    • Disconnect all peripherals except for your mouse and keyboard.
