Vigilant Great hammer defence stacking permanently
I'm not 100% sure what is happening here but I can confirm that having the vigilant greathammer weapon equipped continuously permanently increases your defence stat until you save or quit and reload the game.
It repeatedly stacks over and over. I noticed once I had about 1800 defence and was barely taking any damage, but I played through some of the arena fights and got it up over 3000.
I think this happens through the interaction with the 4th ability of the hammer: "grant 20 defence every time you gain an advantage during combat"
But then that defence just stays. Although through testing, the amount of permanent defence you gain is never quite the same as the number you should get through advantages. There's something weird going on under the hood.
This can be fixed by reloading but the hammer is currently broken in some way.
Test this just by running a few arena fights and checking your defence stat before and after.
