I want to keep the Origin app

I gave your EA app a chance and not even 30 minutes later I deleted it and re-installed the Origin app.  However, it appears that you've rigged the Origin app to lock me out of my games unless I use the EA app.  However, my issue is that, for example, when I go to play my game which is Command and Conquer Red Alert 2 Yuri's Revenge, the EA app causes it to minimize and forces me back to my desktop.  And when I attempt to click on the game icon to restore it to full size, the screen is completely black and I am unable to play anything.  So should I expect a refund on my games since you have now effectively knee capped me with your bulls***?

  • Mine runs but I get black screen with a cursor, game is running as music is playing and I can click things in the darkness, but apart seeing the cursor it's black.

  • I experience the same, after being forced to use the EA App, my CNC, RA2, and Yuri's revenge does not operate like it did on Origin. I can launch the app and get the black screen, with cursor and game play music in the background. To get back to my windows desktop, I hit the windows key and I notice CNC is running but appears to have screen resolution issues - running at 800 X 600. This would explain why I see the black screen with cursor, but would spend all day trying to locate the game control to launch game play. Origin had a setting for this so that the game could play at the higher resolution (i.e. 1920 X 1080). Does EA have an answer for this or are they simply not responding to post, as I have not seen any on the CNC forum questions. Just curious. Thanks

Sorry, ladies and gentlemen, but EA has officially killed Origin. They have been very vocal about this, have been very unwilling to bring Origin back, and have been very diligent in squashing user's attempts to restore functionality to Origin. This is absolute malice on the part of EA, and they could not care less about you or your problems. I will say that there are ways around the EA App if you do some diligent coding/Googling, but EA has made it known that no solution or resolution will come from them.

Good luck with trying to get a refund! I have a feeling this is going to go class action soon if EA continues their shenanigans.

    Take care,

    Jarl
