How on the earth I am spending 6 hours or more downloading a 90GB game on this app, when it is litteraly taking me 20 minutes maximum to download a game worth 130 GB on Steam ???
At this point, I tried all the weird tips given here and there on the forum or others social media, but none worked.Just, how is it possible in 2025 ?
This issue exist since more than 10 years and have not been fixed yet.

And yet, here I am. 👋
We happen to have an article about this topic: https://forums.ea.com/blog/ea-app-game-info-hub-en/info-understanding-download-speeds-in-the-ea-app/7485879.
Hope this helps.

Hello, I'm having a lot of difficulty trying to figure out why my download speed on the EA app is stuck at around 7mbps. I have seen many questions about this but all with the same answers. I would like to make it clear please do not bother giving idiotic advice like "did you set the download speed to unlimited?" or "did you clear the cache?". My pc has no trouble with downloading via ethernet at 100 MBPS. No other app downloads this slow and I want to know why this is. It is really frustrating only downloading over 10x slower than it needs to be. I don't specifically want help from EA workers as they seem to all be saying the same stupid stuff, so I'm posting it here.

I can't help but notice, that there are countless requests on this forum about download speeds.
We're all aware you can use just about any other client and you download speed will be already double, but why has this been such a large ongoing issue for over 5 years with absolutely no solution provided by EA.
Any posts which contain "solved answers" have responses from the original poster outlining it still doesn't work despite following their instructions.
Has their been any acknowledgement from EA to actually sort this out or do they just expect us to keep trying to download at painful speeds? At this point im just going to cancel my EA subscription and start buying from steam. That seems to be the only solution people have found.

What is going on with trying to update or download anything within the EA app? I have a 1gb internet connection and can't download any quicker than 100kb/s?
On top of this, when I run an internet speed test while downloading it seems the app is throttling my overall speeds. (33.4 mbps down/0.1 mbps up).
I'm not sure what to do all of the info I found on this online doesn't work.

Hello! I’m having an issue with the EA Play app on my alaptop (HP Victus Gaming 16). My download speeds are stuck at 3-4 MB/s even though I’ve set the app to “unlimited” in the settings. My internet connection is faster than this, the download speed is around 30 MB — Im certain about that I usually get much higher speeds on other platforms like Steam, so I know it’s not my network.
Here’s what I’ve already tried:
- Cleared the EA Play app cache.
- Repaired the EA Play app.
- Restarted the EA Play app
- Restarted my laptop.
- Check for Windows and driver updates (everything is up to date).
- Confirmed no other apps are hogging bandwidth (via Task Manager).
My system specs :
- OS: Windows 11
- SSD: PCIe Gen4 NVMe M.2
- RAM: 16 GB
EA Play App: Latest version
Has anyone else experienced this slow download problem? Any fixes or suggestions? Could this be a server-side issue on EA’s end? Thanks in advance for any help!

I'm sorry, but if you alter the way the EA app is supposed to be installed on your system and you run into issues, I'm afraid there isn't much we can help with.
I'd recommend completely removing (with Revo Uninstaller Free, for example) and reinstalling the EA app the way it's supposed to be installed to see if you're still experiencing this issue.
Thanks.

Even after 30 days there are no official replies. This problem is replicable.
If it helps in diagnosing the cause, the only out-of-ordinary thing is that my EA App was installed in another disk partition, other than C
Regardless, this behavior simply is not acceptable.
