How do I change the SECOND player name on my account???
in the EA app, my profile shows two names: One that is displayed in games, and a similar secondary name underneath - I haven't used that name in years and would like to change it. To be patently clear, I am talking about the name that I've mostly covered in this screenshot:
There does not appear to be a setting for it anywhere in the options visible when I click "manage" and literally none of my accounts use the name that is listed there, so I really don't know why this is on my account at all, as it wasn't even the first name the account has had. I'd like to be able to change or even remove this entirely.

The secondary name is your EA app nickname. You won't be able to remove this entirely, but should be able to change it through the EA app specifically.
Rather than going to Settings > My account > My profile > Manage, which will only let you update your EA ID (Sno314 in this case), the nickname has to be updated in the EA app directly.
If you click your profile picture in your friends list to bring up the Online/Away/Invisible options, click My profile from this location. That should let you then select an Edit Profile button under this secondary nickname that will let you change it.
