How does one put EA in offline mode?

@odettesmom, open the EA app > click in the top-left menu (the three horizontal lines) > "Go offline". 🙂- 3 years ago
I'm having a similar issue, but that won't really solve it. I can't access the app if my internet is down. So I can't put it in offline mod, because I can't sign in/get it load at all if I'm not connected to the internet. At the same time, my internet isn't always down and I prefer to play online for access to the gallery. So, is there a way to access the game if I'm not connected to the internet but I didn't turn on offline mod the last time I played.
I know I used to be able to open and play the game even if I couldn't get connected to the internet when I was still using Origin. But ever since I moved to the EA app, I can't access the game even though it's downloaded on my computer, if the internet is down. It's really frustrating. The main reason I play Sims is because it's a fun game that DOESN'T require the internet. If I have to be connected just to load, then it's not really any different than any other game anymore.

Don't install maybe?🤷♂️

This was a very BIG GLITCH in beta that was never fixed. Hence why many of us stayed with the Origin app- 3 years ago
Great job EA just a way to screw people over can't play the game offline and no help from what you a wast of money time.

It really is unacceptable that there's no way to play this almost-entirely-offline single-player game which is entirely downloaded onto my computer without using the internet to log in first. I bought The Sims 4 years ago because I remember playing 3 on trips when I—like many potential customers—had no internet access. I have enjoyed playing offline for those years, but I can't do that anymore because logging in requires internet access (even though my computer is supposed to KEEP me logged in). I can't imagine how tempting it must be now for people with limited internet access to just pirate the game so they can play it locally.
This needs to be fixed.

Hey Ea, the offline play mode doesn’t work. I don’t wanna play online cause i don’t want my game to update (the update is game breaking). I went briefly online to go offline. The game doesn’t open at all. - 3 years ago
Has a solution to the problem been found? I messaged EA two weeks ago and still haven't gotten a reply back. I haven't been able to play The Sims since EA forced me to update to their app and get rid of Origin, and that was a month ago. It doesn't matter how many times I put it in offline mode, it always tells me that I have to sign in online in order to play offline. It's really frustrating and I'm beginning to wonder if there's an alternative to playing The Sims without the EA app.

I presume this hasn't been fixed? Sigh. Currently having Internet problems and experiencing this issue. What's the point of a game that needs the Internet just to load?! It's ridiculous! At least with origin it would open the main bit and give you the option to play offline if you were having problems. Ea app doesn't even load up! Frustrating to say the least...

Having to login in every 2 seconds isn't an offline mode. Being kicked out of gaming sessions while in offline mode because of not having logged in for 2 seconds isn't offline mode. Being denied access to the app/games due to not having logged in for 2 seconds isn't offline mode.- panpan62222 years agoNew Rookie
Exactly. Having to login to go into offline mode isn't right. Some people can only afford or receive bad internet connection in their area and prefer offline for less disruptions. EA couldn't care less. Being kicked off of my game because i'm offline and there's an update that I *don't need right that second* is beyond frustration.
In origin, I could login offline, technically, and also play offline with no interruptions. Update needed but heard tons of bugs? I could go offline and still play bypassing the update. Need to access the gallery? Switch to online real quick then turn it back off while in-game- but no. It won't even connect online if you're already in game.
EA app is a joke. They pushed it on us before they even had it together. Typical EA.

EA play signs out in the middle of game play after 30 minutes or so of being in offline mode and requires you to resign in. I, like many, have an unstable connection or desire to play my game remotely when needed. Origin had a stable offline mode and EA play does not. I, like many, purchased this game as an offline game not an online game. Save that for the Sims 5, as its poor taste to change how the game launches 9 years in. I've had this game since 2014 and no previous sims games required online. Again, save that for the sims 5. This is a single player experience that can be enjoyed while on the move. It shouldn't need internet, allowing players to have the full experience. Its unfortunate that the sims 4 has reduced the capacity of the sims rather than expand it.
This obviously was added purposefully by EA to acclimatize us to the future of subscription based/ online sims gameplay. However, it is truly in very poor taste to switch aspects of the game for those who have already purchased it. I do hope this will be changed in the future.
Thanks for your time.
- 2 years ago@EA_Leeuw Some people dont have internet of their own or may have a power outage for a few days in their area where they can't connect to the internet at all.
It would be nice to be able to launch up sims 4 without worry about having to connect to the internet. I would like to launch Sims 4 when i can't connect to the internet at all.- 11 months ago@AvaFawnGamer Exactly, when it was origin I could open it and play it whenever. I haven’t had WiFi since Friday (it’s tuesday now) and have played sims somehow until this point yet now I’m unable to open the app at all, it’s extremely annoying.

No the app doesn't support offline mode, unless offline mode means to you that you can only open the app and the Can't Connect to Servers appear. EA app is a total downgrade.

I don’t have internet but I did in fact buy the horse expansion packs and have been collecting for some time now I am unable to offline sirs and ma’am’s
- 2 years ago@BigBunnie1109 I'm sad to say I am in the same situation and because of this I have uninstalled the game. It's completely unplayable.

The "plan offline" feature is redundant. Everytime I start my computer and launch sims, EA has to start up and sign in (even though i ticked the remember me option). In order to "play offline" you have to sign into EA......... So even if you spend a lot of money and own the game, you cannot play unless you go online and confirm, then you can play offline. Basically you need to go online first before playing offline.....Genuis. Will download a HACK and bypass illegally accordingly (although I payed for it?). Stupid app.
