is there a way to download the ea desktop app without admin rights

the title says it all, my laptop, which i bought with MY money, has a administrator account i have no control over, and i can't get rid of it, and my father, who put it there without my consent, won't remove it. I cannot know if would agree to give permission to install something on MY laptop, so i need a way to get around it. i was hoping the Ea desktop app would have no trouble installing, unlike Origin, but i am running into trouble AGAIN. and i just bought Titanfall 2 on Steam, and i can't even play it because you * * at EA insist on having all the games you publish only launch from your special launch app.

  • It wants to install itself into C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\EA Desktop and access the game at their location and your user would need to have permission for your apps to do that.

I imagine there could be some way to get it to work by getting the applications installed in locations you have more access to, like the desktop, but not really something I have had the need to test out.

As for EA Games on Steam requiring Origin that's for the games that arrived on Origin only and then later got on Steam, I believe all newer games that arrive on both at launch wont need Origin/EA Desktop but just need to have the Steam account connected to the EA Account.

You can change the install location of the App to a folder you have access to.

Did this advice help you out, @BottasHeimfe96

  • Definitely gonna give it a try later. But I kind of doubt it. My laptop has two SSDs in it so I can easily just install it on the secondary drive. But I don’t know if setting the install location to my D: drive will get around it. Last time I tried installing something on my D: drive I still ran into the damned admin block.

  • yeah the advice given of changing the install location didn't work. before beginning installation, it still requested admin password.
