Watching this thread because I absolutely refuse to switch over to the EA app until this is fully fixed. I should not be locked out of playing an OFFLINE game I paid hundreds of dollars(counting packs and kits) into simply because I have no internet.
While I do have internet at home, it will go out sometimes or I may not be at home. I also share my account with my mother as we are one household and have both contributed to our sims collection, so we cannot both be logged in online at one time. Unfortunately she has already switched her computer over to EA at this time. Fortunately I am still on Origin.
Being able to switch to offline mode once logged in is only half the battle. We absolutely MUST have a way to log in offline as well. Otherwise EA is just ripping us all off.
It truly is so frustrating, I also share my account with a sibling and yesterday Origin literally FORCED me to download the EA app, otherwise I couldn't play the Sims. Now in order to play we have to quite literally wait for the other to be done and take turns when we both have our own PC's. Extremely frustrating and I was hoping for a bit more from EA. I was really excited for all the new content for the Sims, but quite frankly I'm not even sure if I'll be getting the new packs when I'm not even sure if I can play them properly.

I'm frustrated as well, seeing the threads after thread and also reddit included. I haven't been able to find any fix and I really hope this * is fixed, I'd rather use Origin instead of this stupid application. All I have is Steam games and some minecraft, cause' I won't be able to play my game in this EA app.
I really hope they fix this, immediately.
