can't open EA app

Whenever I try to open the EA app, a screen shows up that says "connecting to the EA app" for approximately 2 seconds, then disappears and nothing happens. I've tried running the app as an administrator, as well as trying to open it trough its file location (clicking on 'Ea Launch helper' instead of 'Ea desktop), but with no success whatsoever. I do not want to uninstall/reinstall the app again, as I already did that a short while ago. If someone could help me with this, I'd be really grateful
