Can't re-add friends after removing a block

hi, so i banned my friend as a joke and after he’s been unbanned i cant add him as a friend or play with him anymore any suggestions how i can fix this?

To double-check I understand what's happening, you blocked your friend as a joke, and after unblocking him you're having trouble re-adding him in the EA app?

And from the image you attached (thanks for popping that up btw), it looks like your friend is able to send a friend request through to you, and it shows up for you, but you're only seeing the option to decline it. Is that about right?

Could try clearing the EA app cache, logging out and closing the EA app fully, before reopening it and trying to add him again?
