EA App Install Error - INST-14-1618

Summarize your bug Keep getting INST-14-1618 when trying to download EA App
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? start installation
What happens when the bug occurs? I get an error screen and the app doesn't download
What do you expect to see? the EA app to be installed so that I am able to play my video games

I have been trying to download the EA App for over a week now. I have deleted as much stuff as I can off my computer. Turned off Anti-virus and firewall protections. Turned off my VPN and tried to install it as an Administrator but every single time I go to Install the game I get INST-14-1618, and it stops downloading.

    My solution to INST-14-1618 was to go to Task Manager and end task 'Windows Installer', then run EAappinstaller.exe as 'admin'. Apparently EAappinstaller calls Windows Installer but detected that it was already in use. Ba-da-bing it worked. Hope it works for you.

    My solution to INST-14-1618 was to go to Task Manager and end task 'Windows Installer', then run EAappinstaller.exe as 'admin'. Apparently EAappinstaller calls Windows Installer but detected that it was already in use. Ba-da-bing it worked. Hope it works for you.

    I've had the same issue, and I haven't gotten a ton of help from EA (yet). For the most part, when I talked to support about it, they just said "they will fix it soon". This installation thing also actually affected pretty much everything else installation related: DLC installs, repairing, installing a game, as well as just installing the launcher. Here's my copy paste from another forum post:

    Windows version and build number: 22H2, Build 19045.3086

    EA app version: unsure, I can't even install the app anymore

    The region you're from: USA, West

    Are you using an internal or external drive to play your games? Internal

    Are you using an HDD or SSD? SSD

    Date this issue started: Still happening, noticed this on July 1st

    Other error(s)? Before uninstalling the app and running myself into a bigger hole, I originally could not download any DLC. I got the error "something is wrong, try again later". Attempting to repair also got me this error message. Tried to uninstall Sims 4 and reinstall: couldn't reinstall due to the same error again. Tried to uninstall and reinstall the EA app itself: "installation timed out". I really think this is an EA issue and not an internet issue. I don't know what to do, and I'm stressing over this even though I shouldn't
