taco0potato What version of macOS are you running? There may be an option in the OS settings to stop the App from opening on startup, or block the background process.
As an interim fix, once you close the App, open the Activity Monitor, in Applications > Utilities, and kill the EABackgroundService and the EAUpdaterService. The EABackgroundAgent should close on its own once the background service is nuked.
