EA App stuck on cancelling

I was downloading the sims on my computer when it suddenly froze. It would not download anymore, and it was stuck at 48%. So I decided to cancel it, but now it's stuck on "canceling" instead. EA support said to clear my cache using the "three dashes in the far left corner", but such a thing is nonexistent.

  • @DazzMehdi,

if you're on Mac, I'll move your post to the right forum section - you posted in the Technical Issues - PC section of the EA app forum. Please always make sure you post in the right corner of the forum to avoid confusion.

Regarding on how to do the app recovery on Mac, here are the instructions:

EA app App Recovery - macOS

    1. Open the app, click on the EA app menu (next to the Apple logo) in the top-left corner & left-click on 'Help'.
    2. Left-click on 'App Recovery'.
    3. Left-click on 'CLEAR CACHE'.
    4. You might be asked to allow permission for the clear cache process to run. Please enter your macOS local account username and your macOS local user account password. Not your EA account email address and password! If you forgot your user or account name on Mac, please click here for more info.
    5. The EA app will now clear its cache and restart.

    Hello @DazzMehdi,

clearing the cache is the correct step to take here - here is a picture on how it's supposed to look.

Are the three dashes simply not there? If they are, please clock on them, go to "Help" and then App recovery.

Otherwise, you can also find this option of doing the app recovery by navigating to the save location of the EA app and clicking on the file "app recovery".
