EA Desktop App - Unable to Install - "Unable to install to the Orgin Folder"
I am attempting to download and install EA Play games off of the Xbox app with my Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. However, the Xbox App informs me I need to download and install the EA App. This prompts a download of the EA App and when I click "Let's Go" to start the installation of the EA App, i get the error message "Unable to install to the Orgin folder."
I tried going directly to the EA website (https://www.ea.com/ea-app-beta) to download and install the EA App and I still get the same error message. I also verified my Xbox Live Gamertag is linked to my EA Account (as well as my Steam).
I have also tried restarting my computer, restarting my router, and ensuring I don't already have the EA App (or even Orgin) installed.
I have a case open with EA Help, but I have had 3 different people ask me if I have access to my email address on my account, which I verified I do. I am not sure what this has to do with anything, but it has been a week with no resolution and going in circles.
Has anyone experienced this error message before and know how to resolve it?
Thanks!
Hi @ChiClutch Thanks for this information, we may be running into an issue with the Beta Client. To confirm is there another drive outside of C to try to install to? (if not or if we get the same error) trying a Clean Boot or making a new local Admin account and seeing if either allows the client to install would be the next step.
