EA games bought on Steam Won't start with EA app

Hey there @AjaxTTV,

Are you getting an error message when you try to launch The Sims through the EA App? 

Oh I'm sorry, I forgot to specify. The Sims 4 doesn't appear in the EA app at all, I can only start it from Steam and I get an error message.

What is the result of the command:

cmd /k reg query HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\link2ea /s & reg query HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\link2ea /s

when u run it by Win+R - paste it - ok

Hello there! I know soon we are supposed to be making the switch from the Origin app to the EA app. I have done that and on the EA app it doesn't show Sims 4 in my collections. It only shows Sims 3. Both games were purchased through Steam. Even when I search the store on the EA app and scroll through the add-ons, it shows that I own some of the packs and kits, but not the base game. I have un-installed and reinstalled the EA app and it still doesn't show. I have attached three photos of my library on Origin and my library on the EA app and another photo of what the Origin app says I own.. I am currently re-installing Sims 4 now to see if that works. I contacted EA support last night and all they did was send me two articles to go over and I followed the instructions and still no Sims 4 on the EA app. So now I am hoping that the re-installation of Sims 4 will show up. If anyone else knows what to do, please help. I am at a loss. Thank you for your time!

I first play Sims4 in Origin, then I change the platform to Steam. Therefore I play Sims4 by Steam.
But!!! Today I install EA app and it deletes Origin automatically, I cannot open sims4 by steam anymore because it requires Origin...

I purchase serveal DLCs from steam but it doesn't shown in EA App. Now I can only open Sims4 by EA app but the location of file of Sims4 is at Steam? It is ridiculous but luckily Sims4 works normally at the moment. Hope there is no further issues ☹️
Should I delete Sims4 and install it again or download Origin again? But I want to know if DLCs are still available after I install Sims4 again? I don't want to purchase same DLC again due to this issue. I don't want to lose my saves ☹️

I had the same issue. What I did was browse to the game in the EA app, clicked on the (...) next the the install button, and selected add to my collection.

This fixed it for me, The game I was trying to play was battlefield 2042.

The results are normal.

- Check the linkage Steam to the EA account as EA_Solaire suggests

- Try to launch the EA app with Admin rights

- Do u have Sims 4 by subscription or u own it?

@howard035  Download Origin again.  Steam currently only works with Origin, not with the EA App.  So anything you own in Steam won't show up in the EA App, and you won't be able to launch your game from Steam without Origin present.
