@EA_IlliumDoesn't work, sadly. After I did the app recovery, the EA app opened smoothly, as usual. Once I clicked on "play", the launching game thingy was present for 2-3 seconds, then the whole EA app closed for around 5 seconds, following it's reappearing as if I never actually attempted to open the game.

The SAME EXACT thing is happening to me every single time. This new app is horrible. I just bought a game and I can't even play it. Origin was far better. I've tried to uninstall, reinstall, clear the cache and all the other recommended things. I sure would like to play the game I just bought off STEAM, where I then to use this OTHER app to play off of. Smh...

And Here I was thinking it was some unrelated issue I have been having with my pc anyway... Why the f*ck?? I even kind of get wanting your own client to run games you distribute (though I think even making them available elsewhere then is freaking pointless) but at least have it work? I bought a game on steam I have been wanting to play for forever (it was consol exclusive for a while and I don't own a console) and now rather than finally being able to play it I spent my night unsuccessfully troubleshooting this mess...

Same here. I actually had the same problems with origin launcher. Finally figured that out and boom they release a new client with the same pervasive problem. Cant even go back to origin. Pretty much robbed of 5 games guess ill check back next year maybe they'll do something.

However - this worked for me. <3
Go to Settings -> Accounts -> Family and other Users
Then create a new User.
It is going to ask for a microsoft login. You dont know the login.
It is going to prompt you to create an account. You want to add an User without Microsoft Account.
Make a random username and a password. remember the password!
You now should have a new User. Click on it, then Click 'Change Accounttype'
then click 'Standard User' and change it to 'Admin'.
Log out of your main user and into your new user. Games should be there, depending on where you downloaded them.
They should run perfectly now!
