@EternalKimIlsung its not working because when you open origin they spam you to use The garbage EAapp and you cannot do anything else
@EA_Aticare you going to Fix the damn laucher or we have to go to collage for programming to do your damn job lmao? You got our money .. what the *
Has this been fixed? Running into same problem MONTHS after the initial post. I should have made sure it wasn't on this * launcher before buying the game. Your company is such a * disappointment,
There will be some bugs but at least you can play it just go to "Steam\steamapps\common\Jedi Fallen Order\SwGame\Binaries\Win64" and pin "SwGame-Win64-Shipping.exe" to you star/taskbar/or copy link to desktop and run it from there.... Its what I did and can now play the game so far with not many problems...
NOTE TO EA Come on guys fix your stuff with the new Star Wars game coming out people want to go back and replay the other one for a refresher and MANY of us use Steam. It is no one elses issue BUT yours EA App is trash and causing problems fix it or revert to Origin.
Obviously I have the same problem many others are having with the game. Only thing is is when I start the game normally it loads EAApp normally then the app minimizes and re-loads the app and does nothing. I get no error message at all and the game does not load.
It is April 1st, and this issue has still not been resolved. In fact, it has gotten worse by now requiring users to upgrade to the EA app rather than allowing continuing to use Origin. Every time I load Origin I am taken to a prompt that will only allow me to install the EA App or learn more.
mee too the same problem. i wasted 2 weeks of my time .... the game doesent start. the support say NOTHING
i buy this game for the full i Price i stupid Idiot.
This was the last game from EA. When i buy i wait 2 years and buy it for 5 Euros
I hope I live to see this company go bankrupt.....
- @zay7sev What fools would launch a new AAA title with a broken launcher that automatically wipes out your old launcher?
This problem is still an issue six months later. How does a company like this fail to take care of the players?
Without digging too deep, EA has ruined some franchises and I don't like their business model. As a result, I had stopped buying any of their games for quite a long time. Let a few friends talk me into giving this one a shot and I literally can't even open the game.
Just confirmation that I'd made the right choice and I should stay away from the EA dumpster fire.
I FINALLY Fixed it. I went off the hunch I got it could be a registry problem and just started digging through the registry options for EA App, Steam, and this thing for "Respawn" I found. I ended up finding this install script in the game's directory called installScript.vdf. and opening it revealed it to be setting a bunch of registry options for the game. Specifically, one of the directories is "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Respawn\\Jedi Fallen Order\\" where it sets the string "Install Dir" which I noticed mine wasn't set correctly, to an older installation folder before I moved the game. I changed it to be correct, to the current installation folder and it worked immediately.
TLDR: Open RegEdit and go here:
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Respawn\Jedi Fallen Order
and then fix the string named "Install Dir" to be correct. in my case:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Jedi Fallen Order"
hope this helps. Also, EA if I can fix this maybe you can too.
