Summarize your bug Installation of the Sims 4 and associated add-ons is halted and an error message pops up shortly after initiation. The error message is stated in the subject line, but is essentially "Something went wrong, try again later". This repeats Every Single Time thereafter and cannot be resolved by basic or advanced troubleshooting.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Uninstall the game and add-ons, and then try to reinitiate installation.
What happens when the bug occurs? Error message occurs and nothing else happens
What do you expect to see? The game installing
The scenario:
The EA App had to be uninstalled and reinstalled to troubleshoot a different existing issue regarding launching an installed game. I tried to reinstall The Sims 4 and all associated add-ons once that issue had been troubleshooted and corrected, and the error message "Something went wrong during your download" popped up and repeated every time I clicked Download thereafter.
Steps taken to correct (so far):
- Uninstalling and reinstalling the app launcher
- Uninstalling all other games within my library, logging out, and back into the application
- Clearing the app cache
- Repairing the app through the uninstall manager feature
- Running as admin / installing as admin
- Changing UAC levels for EA App
- Clean booting the PC (2x)
