Low disk storage

The EA app won't let me download the new update because it says, "Low disk space" and only downloads to 5%. I tried deleting some stuff and doing computer cleanup, but nothing is working. I want to try deleting and redownloading the EA app, but I'm scared ill lose all my game progress and cc. which I've looked at options for saving those so they won't disappear when I delete the app, but I can't cut and paste the sims folder because of the low storage. I don't know what to do someone please help!!

  • @sozietty  I take it you're playing Sims 4?  Your saves and other user data are located in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4, and this folder wouldn't get deleted if you uninstalled the EA App and shouldn't get deleted if you uninstall the game either.  But if you do ever uninstall Sims 4, please make a backup of this user folder just in case.

How much free storage do you have on your computer?  If you're not sure, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

And if you really are this low on space, it's a good idea to look into external storage, which can be quite cheap these days.  This is not a problem that solves itself, and Sims 4 is only getting bigger with each update.
