Need to be online to be able to play offline?

Why is it impossible to start up the EA app while my computer is offline? The entire point of an offline mode is to be able to play without internet. When I use my pc without an internet connection...

@Moskikat I tried to play offline today and I hadn't had any problems... I'll try to search that post where they said to update the game.

      I don't think this is about the Offline mode? My game is updated to an october patch anyway, not a last year one lol.
      And btw this error shows up every time there is a new update, even tho my game is updated to the patch before the new one.
