    Hi all,

For the players who are still experiencing this issue, please make sure that your internal system clock (for Windows, this can also be changed in the BIOS, please check your BIOS manual for this or contact your manufacturer) and your Windows/macOS clock are set to the correct date/time. For the Windows/macOS clock, please make sure that it has synced with the actual date/time.

Alternatively, you can try to add a time server in Windows/macOS settings (like time.nist.gov or us.pool.ntp.org) for a more accurate time.

How to Add a Time Server in Windows 10 and 11 & Re-Sync your System Time (click "Spoiler" to reveal info):

    Spoiler
    1. Open Control Panel:

      • Type “Control Panel” in the Start search bar and press Enter to open the Control Panel on your Windows 10/11 PC.
    2. Access Date and Time Settings:

      • In the Control Panel, type “Date and Time” in the search box and click on the corresponding result.
    3. Open Internet Time Settings:

      • Click on the ‘Internet Time’ tab.
      • Click the ‘Change Settings’ button.
    4. Select a Time Server:

      • In the Server field, select a time server from the drop-down menu, such as time.nist.gov.
      • Click the ‘Update now’ button.
    5. Handle Errors:

      • If you encounter an error, try using pool.ntp.org as the time server.
      • Click the ‘Update now’ button again.
    6. Synchronize with an Internet Time Server:

      • Ensure the checkbox labeled “Synchronize with an internet time server” is selected.
      • Click OK to save the settings.

How to Add a Time Server in macOS & Re-Sync your System Time (click "Spoiler" to reveal info):

    Spoiler
    1. Open System Preferences:

      • Click on the Apple menu in the top-left corner of the screen.
      • Select “System Preferences” from the dropdown menu.
    2. Access Date & Time Settings:

      • Click on “Date & Time” in the System Preferences window.
    3. Unlock Settings:

      • Click the padlock icon in the bottom-left corner of the Date & Time window.
      • Enter your administrator password when prompted and click “Unlock.”
    4. Open Network Time Server Settings:

      • Go to the “Date & Time” tab if not already selected.
      • Ensure the “Set date and time automatically” checkbox is checked.
    5. Add a Time Server:

      • In the field next to the “Set date and time automatically” checkbox, enter the desired time server, such as time.nist.gov or pool.ntp.org.
    6. Save and Close:

      • Close the Date & Time window.
      • The changes will be saved automatically, and your Mac will synchronize with the specified time server.

*Please also undo any VPN configs, or strict DNS-filtering devices or services.

Please let us know how it goes.

  • Having tried to play Generals myself today I got the same error, however having seen your post that suggested you were able to play but your child wasn't it got me wondering if it is because my 'daily driver' Windows Account is not an admin account, but a standard account.

Having logged in to my local Windows admin account I can run the game. This leads me to ask whether your child has their own Windows account which is not an admin account (as my kids do)? If so you might have to accept allowing them to run this title on an admin account, perhaps making it clear it is to play this game only and they will need to return to their own account when finished.

Not ideal, but unfortunately this game seems to be one of those that  falls in the not so sweet spot of not quite being old enough to be emulated on something like SCUMMVM or DosBox but not quite being new enough to play nice with modern versions of Windows.

You could try tinkering with user account control settings. I've warned against this in previous posts but again trying to run older software might require a compromise, just please please please remember to switch UAC back on when done. (You will need to switch to an admin account to disable UAC).

    Good luck :-)

  • Hello, as the title states, whenever I try and open The Sims 4 from The EA App, I'm getting the error "This game hasn't released yet." I've found other subs discussing this issue and I've tried everything they've suggested to help fix the issue, but nothing appears to be working.

    Things I've done include:

    • uninstalling and reinstalling Sims 4 and The EA App
    • repairing my game
    • clearing The EA App cache
    • removing my CC folder
    • restarting and updating my computer
    • made an exception in my antivirus software (which is Bitdefender, for reference)
    • checked for updates in the game and The EA App

I can't think of anything else to do that would fix the game. It was working fine a few days ago, the only difference I made was the upgrading my antivirus, but like I said, I added an exception Bitdefender for both Sims and The EA App. I saw another solution being to change your computer time and date to the release date of the game, however, there is no release date on the warning---it's blank. Let me know if there's any additional information you need. I'll happily answer them for ya

EDIT: So, uh, I'm really not sure what I did, but I updated a bunch of stuff on my laptop and that seemed to fix the issue for me. For anyone who might be at a loss, here's an effective way to ensure everything is updated on your computer (you do need the WinGet Tool downloaded for this, however).

This is specifically for Windows (I'm running Windows 11, by the way), W, by the way. I don't have no idea if this would work for Mac.

    • select the START MENU
    • Type CMD
    • open COMMDAND PROMPT and type WINGET UPDATE

    • press ENTER and a list of things that need updating should show up
    • once the list fully loads, type WINGET UPDATE --ALL (this is what it should look like)

    • press ENTER and wait for it to update everything for you

I hope this helps someone, because it weirdly helped me. Also, check your windows update settings to see if there's anything that needs updating, and NVIDIA, if you have it.

@IframedtheButtle Exactly same issue as this, but with Dragon Age Inquisition and The Sims 4. Looks like a major failure on EA's part. Have done all the usual, re-installing, adjusting clock etc.
  • I get this error in need for speed heat and need for speed payback. How many times have I talked about this in ea help? No matter what we do, it doesn't fix it. I think it will occur in other games. Someone please help me with this error.

    my system properties:

    i5 12450H

    RTX 3050 laptop gpu

    16 GB ram

I tried fixing the spelling issue I had, but for some reason it's not letting me. I also wanted to add that the WinGet tool is only available for Windows users (more specifically, Windows 10 and up -- it's not available on the earlier versions, unfortunately), sorry Mac users.
