Not new "You don't have access" error from launching through Steam

So my friend gifted me Plant vs Zombies Garden Warfare 2 Deluxe Edition on Steam, but after installing it and launching it on Steam (I already had the EA App installed, with "Star Wars Battlefront II" already showing in my library with the 'Steam' tag, the 2 (Steam-EA) accounts still linked from eons), the EA App would open and just give me the error. I tried unlinking and relinking my Steam account to the EA account (which btw has locked me from unlinking and relinking on the same account until February 2026, very cool) , I tried reinstalling the EA App and the game different times, I  tried logging in again using the steam login and surprise it was still the same account as before. Crazily enough this problem has been happening to people, as I've seen from the reddit and forum posts, since 2022 at least. It's frustrating. I don't even know if it could be some problem with their systems, and I wonder if I'll see it fixed in my lifetime at this point.  I really don't want to have to buy the game two times.
