When does the error occur (opening the app, logging into the app, or launching a game): Opening the app, my iMac wants me to enter admin password, because EA App wants to make changes, I allow it and the App Crashes with Error 106.

When I attempt to open the app. I get prompted for my Mac password and after I enter it I get an error message: Something went wrong. The EA app encountered an unknown error. Try again a bit later. Error code: EC:106

When does the error occur (opening the app, logging into the app, or launching a game): Since trying the new version of the EA app you suggested on Saturday these two errors have been happening in tandem for me. I try to open the app and it asks for administrative approval to make changes and I have to type in my password. Once I finish that a message pops up saying "The app crashed unexpectedly" and asks to send a crash report and restart the app (picture attached below). When I click restart app a second error message pops up that is DIFFERENT then the original one ever since downloading the new version you suggested. Now the second error message says "something went wrong" and gives the error code EC:106.

Timestamp when the issue first occurred (date/time): This started when the "new version" of the EA app was posted on another thread for "The app crashed unexpectedly" error. This new version just changed the second error message that pops up

I have the same issue and a macbook of 2013 but the lattest version of macOS ! Everything that was described previously is the same for me. I stopped to count days without be able to play my games since April 2024 ! 😭😭 Thanks to origins/EA programmers 😉

Timestamp when the issue first occurred (date/time): First noticed the issue yesterday, May 28th, when I tried to open the app so I could play the Sims

What is the current version of your EA app (check here on how to see this): Can't open the app and therefore cannot see this

EA App is working again for me! Here is what I did before it worked:

Go to Applications > EA App > Click right and choose "Show Package contents" (or something similar, I translate from german) > Contents > MacOS, then run the EA Updater until it's done. Close it. Open EA Destager from the same folder, enter your Admin Password when EA Launch Helper is asking for and it's done. The Login window opened and I was able to log in and update my game.

It didn't work fo me....I'm still having the same issue. 

@loooryglooory This worked for me as well! Except that when Destager was Completed, it didn't ask me for anything and nothing asked for my password, so I closed Destager and opened EADesktop from that same folder and it opened and downloaded my updates. Thank you!

EC:106 Error Code, anyone else have a solution for this, I only seem to find fixes for windows

When does the error occur (opening the app, logging into the app, or launching a game): the error occur when launching the game (sims 4). It says in the EA app that the game is playing, but the game just loads, and then never fully opens to play. It worked fine before switching from origin to the EA app.

I've tried multiple things such as reloading and updating my computer, reinstalling the EA app and check for any sims 4 game updates, but nothing seems to work.
