Banned out of the blue

I am reaching out in regards to a wrongful ban. I was issued a “Warning” back in 2022 and as of this week that warning has been upgraded to a ban. Without any explanation or follow ups. All because I tried unlinking and re-linking my EA account due to an error madden. (Had I knew this was going to create this issue I would’ve never un-linked in the first place.)

 No other cases or any other violations. 4 years later it is upgraded to a ban for absolutely no reason, follow-ups or explanations. I have spoke with the chat-support on EA’s site countless time. Even they agreed this an error on their end but do not have the authority to do anything about it. I have tried appealing the ban maybe 6-7 times so far and but clearly I am just dealing with an automated messaging system. Receiving the same message every single time. I have contacted other agents via chat and they all keep sending me down a dead-end road. Telling me to follow the same protocol. I have screenshots of the chats and the original warning. Where it clearly states I am still able to access my account as long as I follow guidelines. I have tried reaching out to PlayStation network, ultimately they’re telling me this is a “EA issue”. Since 2022 after that initial warning I have not recieved any other violations. It clearly states my account is accessible as long as I’m following the rules/guidelines. This 100% a wrongful ban and systematical error on EA’s end.  But nothing is being done and I’m just going in circles at this point. There is no human in the that specific department to even speak to. I am looking for help to get this issue resolved!

    Sorry to hear that there's been so much difficulty and contingency around re-linking those accounts. If you haven't received any additional violations beyond that initial warning, there should be no further sanctions placed on the account. 

    Are you seeing any error messages or communications that state the account's been banned? If you haven't already, you can check your Penalty History and inbox to be sure. Please send a screenshot of what you can find, and we can continue from there. Thanks!

    Also have a video showing what happens when i do try to re-link the account, if need be. Not quite sure how to send videos on here though.

    Thanks for sending those over!

    Based on the error messages you shared, your account does not seem to be banned. What you're seeing is not caused by the previous warning on the account or by any additional restrictions, which you would be able to see on your Penalty History. Sorry about the confusion; it sounds like you might've been given misleading information about the situation earlier.

    Unrelated to any account actions, the account linking resistance you're experiencing is due to your EA account previously being linked to a different PlayStation Network account than the one you're trying to link now. EA account linking can be a bit confusing in this sense, as it can only be linked to one PSN account in its lifetime, unless you contact support for assistance.

    If you want to link the EA account with a PSN account that isn't the one PlayStation found, please follow the steps below: 

    1. Create a new case 
      Do not resume the one(s) you already made, as not to confuse our support team with less relevant past conversation(s) 
    2. Select Link my EA Account as the issue and populate the rest of the forum
      I'd recommend being as descriptive as possible within the character limit, with a focus on re-linking the accidentally unlinked account
    3. Select the Chat with us option and ask for their assistance with linking the PSN account


    It might take a couple of tries, but support should be able to work with you on this. Let us know how it goes!
