I have had the exact same problem. My old email was hacked years ago so I couldn't access it anymore. Sep 2024 EA support was able to unlink my xbox account from that old EA account so I could connect it to my new EA account with my new email. Great! Now when I try to have my steam account unlinked from the old EA account they said they can't do that. They can no longer unlink accounts. I asked when that changed and the guy said a week ago. I started a ticket over a week ago. He is 100% lying. The verification thing makes no sense as well. I provide every piece of info I can and they still say it's wrong. I show proof of purchases, addresses, phone numbers and nothing. Won't tell you what's missing. EA has to have the worst support out of any company I have ever seen.
