I've lost access to my mail address and need help

I apologize for any weird grammar, english isn't my first language.

After about 15 years I have lost access to my main mail address, it looks like it was accessed by a stranger and my mail account was deleted.

I was able to save most of my stuff, but there are multiple accounts, including my EA Account, where I cannot change the email address without getting a confirmation link to my old mail address.

I can still log in to EA (I'm using the account right now), but I want to make sure I don't lose it in the future when I'm denied to log in without verification via the mail address that doesn't exist anymore.

I can prove I own my linked payment method and at least 3-4 linked accounts from other platforms, but since I created this EA Account many years ago I'm not sure I typed in the correct birthday or address (back then I thought it didn't matter).

Does anyone know if that could become a problem? I was scared to contact EA support right away without knowing the best steps to fix my problem.

Thanks!

  • EA Support was able to help me solve the issue and change my Account's email, but I'm replying here to help anyone who might have the same issue in the future.

They did ask me to name any linked accounts, my birthdate, Country, IP-Address and other info connected to my account. After 100% confirming this is my account, they were able to update my account's email address for me and I had to reset the password.

I have now picked a secure password and also connected 2 factor authentication (2FA) via an authenticator app and I recommend doing this if you haven't yet! I do use 2FA for almost all my stuff, but in the future I will make sure to do this on EVERY account I have anywhere.

I hope this helps someone in the future.

    Take care.
